It was a train wreck heard across the country.
In a small Wisconsin town, in the middle of a Memorial Day parade, a mother’s van became trapped on train tracks. Hearing bells and whistles of an approaching train, the mother, father and a local policeman scrambled to remove an infant strapped in the back car seat.
They failed.
The train struck the car with enough force to demolish it and send it down an embankment. The mother escaped unharmed. The father and policeman were critically injured, but survived. The baby, fastened securely in a Britax car seat, emerged without a scratch.
After the initial media interest quieted, we produced a video to share with Britax customers and prospective customers. The video has been seen by thousands — and ranks in the top 15 percent of YouTube videos.
